Anglesea Memorial Hall Upgrade

The Anglesea Memorial Hall – 2021 Sound & Lighting Upgrade is a locally supported asset upgrade project that is due to be conducted over the latter half of 2020 and into the early months of 2021. The hall will receive improvements to the sound and lighting infrastructure, the stage curtaining, the window treatments, as well as installation fully functioning projector and movie screen. The Community Fundraising Committee is being Auspiced by the Anglesea Community House and is immediately ready for your donations. We invite every community member to contribute what they can, as every dollar will help us achieve the fundraising goal of $47,500. As you are aware the community of Anglesea has long been advocating for an upgrade of the Anglesea Memorial Hall – Sound and Lighting. There has been strong advocacy from Dr. David Corbet of The Sound Doctor Presents & the Anglesea Performing Arts. The Surf Coast Council has worked with local organisations & interest groups to fully scope the project and make it shovel ready. It is really important to understand that this upgrade to the hall is more than just an update to the sound and lighting. The hall will receive improvements to the stage curtaining, the window treatments, as well as a fully functioning projector and movie screen. Do you remember when we could go to the movies in Anglesea, all those years ago? Movies and many more recreational art and screen choices, delivered at a quality unlike we have experienced in our town. Local user group the Rock Choir highly support this upgrade and look forward to the new and improved experience in 2021.

A requirement of the project is a commitment from the community to raise 25% of the funds of the full $191K project, which equates to $47.5K. So a Fundraising Committee had been formed. It is with absolute pleasure, we announce support from the Local Community Bank of Anglesea, who is kick starting the fundraising event with a $20K donation and just this past week, a Silver Sponsorship commitment from the Anglesea Performing Arts of $2K.  So with another $25.5K to raise we are reaching out to all of the user groups/interest groups/community connections, to ask for a financial contribution towards this community fundraising goal.
