First Nations U3A Course

Jul 7, 2021

Are you a member of U3A or have you ever thought about becoming a member?

U3A SurfCoast was formed in 2014 and since then has offered a variety of classes and activities for people who are no longer working full-time, who are keen to socialise with other like-minded people, ready to learn or share knowledge and skills or to just indulge a life-long passion. There are no educational qualifications required or given, no tests, exams or prizes, but plenty of fun. An annual membership fee of $60.00 allows members to enrol in unlimited available classes and activities for the whole year, subject to vacancies. If you are a financial member of another U3A, you are welcome to join as an Associate member for $30.00 for the year.

Anglesea Community House is delighted to provide a space for U3A to run courses. Starting July 29th you can participate in the First Nations course right here in Anglesea.

In 2020 a group of our members took part in a U3A Network trial online course called First Nations History. The course was originally designed by Di Bell from Mornington U3A. The Surfcoast group has since met to design a course to be held in Term 3 and led by Jennie de Neefe, supported by the others in the group. Jennie does not profess to have any expertise in this field, but she is open to discussions, ideas, other people’s experiences and knowledge in a very safe and welcoming space.
