Do you know there is an external rubbish drop off point at the Anglesea Transfer Station for Residents?
As taken from the Surf Coast Shire website: Drop Off Information
Residents can drop off recyclables and a small amount of general household waste at any time when leaving the Surf Coast Shire.
When the transfer stations are open, please use the general public drop-off point.
When the transfer stations are closed you can drop off at the following after-hours collection point:
- Anglesea – outside Anglesea Landfill and Transfer Station at 50 Coalmine Road – old entrance, 100m west of the new entrance.
Please do not place green waste, furniture or white goods at the after-hours collection points. Keep recyclables loose – not in plastic bags, or else they won’t be recycled.
Also, many Holiday Home Owners/Part Time Residents put out their kerbside collection bins when leaving town. These bins can remain kerbside until they next return. Do you have a kind neighbour, who will bring them in for you Or have you considered retaining a local company to put out and pull in your bins? Bins remaining kerbside for long periods of time, can be an indication that the home is vacant.
Remember to download the Surf Coast Shire SCRRApp app to your phone so you know which bins are collected on which days. Some bins are collected fortnightly or once every four weeks so bins put out on the wrong day may stay on the kerbside for many days as a signal that the house is vacant.
Are you visiting… what can you do with your litter? We encourage you to take it home or make use of the many public bins located throughout the shire. If you are in an area that does not have public bins, this is likely to be land managed by Parks, who prefer all rubbish be taken home by visitors.
