Sustainability in your local community

ACH supports several project and initiatives that work to promote sustainability in our communities.

In 2021,  ACH alongside Resale Shed founder, Jim Tutt were formerly recognised for their achivements as a the inaugural recipient of the the Climate Action Award  from Neighbourhood Houses Victoria for outstanding efforts to reduce waste from landfill and give back to the volunteer groups that help make the Resale Shed a success.

In 2022 ACH was the recognised for its work with the Resale Shed as proud recipients of the Premiers Sustainability Award for for Waste Reduction in the Community Category. Read more about this achievement here.

The ACH is committed to playing their part to create a sustainable future and encourage locals to learn about how they can do their bit for the environment.

The ACH supports  a range of different organisations and groups that align with our sustainability vision.

ANGAIR (Anglesea, Aireys Inlet Society for the Preservation of Flora and Fauna) is an active voluntary group dedicated to protecting the indigenous flora and fauna and maintaining the natural beauty of the local environment.
Works collaboratively to nurture, facilitate and support conversations about issues within the Anglesea community.
The Anglesea Resale Shed, a joint partnership between the Surf Coast Shire and local community groups, successfully diverts re-useable materials from landfill. Sales profits are used to support these groups in the community.

The Twilight Farmer’s Market, an initiative of the Anglesea Community House, provides growers and producers an avenue for the community to access local produce.

Repair Cafe Surf Coast: connecting people whilst repairing things together. Get help from volunteers who have the knowledge, equipment, skills and advice to help fix a range of household items.
Seaside Seconds, is an opportunity shop, managed by the Anglesea Baptist Church.
Open to the public, the Anglesea Transfer Station manages waste collection including: Organics, Recycling, Glass, Landfill
